Product design work for Fieldbook, a startup that focuses on improving spreadsheets & databases.

During my time working with Fieldbook, my goal was to work alongside their team to identify pain points within the application and solve them. From user tests and data from their support department, we identified key problems with onboarding, getting started with a new sheet and importing a CSV file.

User Onboarding

Working alongside the Fieldbook team, I helped create a new dashboard and a new tutorial format that helped users get familiar with the application quickly.

The introduction of the tutorials helped Fieldbook retain more than 30% of new users.

Setting up a new sheet

We discovered that users had trouble naming their books, sheets and columns which often led to them leaving the application. We created a autocomplete helper menu that gave the user suggestions based on what data they had already entered.

CSV Import

Importing large and complex CSV files was a painful process. Data not displaying correctly, duplicate information and importing the wrong data were some of the problems users ran into during the import process.

We introduced a new Import CSV flow that allowed to user to have more control over what was imported.
